Media (doesn’t) Matter

Filed under: 2A, guns, rights — antitango @ 6:35 am

Bit of a hubub lately about some Joyce shill.  Media Matters is a cult that allows membership by anybody that refuses the to acknowledge facts and instead desires to live on wishes and unicorn farts.

Here’s their original tagline as posted by Sebastian.

This post is written as part of the Media Matters Gun Facts fellowship. The purpose of the fellowship is to further Media Matters’ mission to comprehensively monitor, analyze, and correct conservative misinformation in the U.S. media. Some of the worst misinformation occurs around the issue of guns, gun violence, and extremism, the fellowship program is designed to fight this misinformation with facts.

Man….  the bull is so thick we need to break out the hip waders!  Linoge has been breaking out the numbers lately.  I think he likes this tradition.  What makes his numbers interesting is that he uses every number that can vary in FAVOR of the anti-gun crowd.  Yet, even so, he still can’t make his numbers come CLOSE to supporting their arguments, even with effort.  You will NEVER hear them acknowledge that he’s right.  They won’t even acknowledge the work he’s done.  It doesn’t support their cause.

In order to ensure that the record is always set straight…  I think we should correct their disclaimer (man, do we gotta do ALL the work for them) and make sure their word gets out.  We need to be kindly neighbors, after all.  A few gunbloggers should be able to dilute their efforts down to nothingness.  A lot of them can turn it into another failed attempt.

Here.  I’ll go first!

The purpose of the fellowship is to further Media Matters’ mission to comprehensively monitor, analyze, and misinform the U.S. media. Some of the most inconvenient facts occur around the issue of guns, gun violence, and extremism, the fellowship program is designed to fight these facts with misinformation.

  1. They cannot admit to the facts. Admitting to the facts would admit to the possibility that they might, possibly, maybe be wrong, and given the “rightness” of their cause, they can never be wrong.

Not that any of that matters… I am not interested in reaching those who bitterly cling to “gun control” like the cult it is. More-rational people will be able to see the facts for what they are, and that is where we are making our headway.

    Thanks for the link!
